Damstra supports Girlsday On April 13, 2017 Damstra Laboratory participated in the national Girlsday. On April 13, 2017 Damstra Laboratory participated in the national Girlsday. On this day various technical and ICT oriented organizations in the Netherlands opened their doors and offered a unique opportunity for girls to get in touch with technique. It has been a full program. In total 32 girls, all in their first year of secondary education (HAVO/VWO), visited the Damstra Laboratory. In 5 sessions the girls received a guided tour through the laboratory, looked at a visualization of partial discharge and witnessed lightning between 2 conductors. Purpose of the Girlsday is to create enthusiasm amongst the girls for technique. VHTO (national experts agency and organizer of the Girlsday), explained that many female talent is lost because of unfamiliarity with technical oriented professions. It was a successful day. The participants enjoyed the laboratory tour and based on the number of questions asked, the tour also triggered some interest. Previous Article Next Article Print
