Replacement Dielectric Lab The commissioning of the new Medium Voltage dielectric test equipment has been completed successfully. The new equipment is installed, calibrated and is ready for use. As reported earlier, Damstra Laboratory had the opportunity to replace its equipment of the medium voltage dielectric lab. Main reason for it was to ensure the accuracy and quality of the measurements and at the same time increase the capabilities of the laboratory. The transformer and the coupling capacitor have been on site for, waiting to finalize the engineering for safety and measurement controls. Early May the control unit of the existing dielectric lab was picked up by the supplier in order to integrate the new equipment controls. Now, 5 weeks later, the supplier installed the equipment and completed the commissioning and calibration; up to 150 kV no partial discharge! The equipment is ready for use.. The new 150kV, / 125 kVA transformer and the 4nFcoupling capacitor will allow Damstra Laboratory to perform tests on objects with higher capacitance such as cables and cable accessories. In addition the recording of test data is much more sophisticated, allowing customers to do detailed analysis of the results. Print
